The short version

Mr Beats is a small independent music store. We only collect the information needed to run your account, take payment and deliver your downloads. We don't use advertising trackers, we don't run marketing lists, and we never sell your data.

What we collect

  • Account information. When you create an account we store your email address and sign-in details. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the basic profile information those services share with us (typically your name and email).
  • Purchase information. When you buy a track or album we keep a record of what you bought, how much you paid, and the Stripe payment reference, so you can re-download your music and so we have proper accounts.
  • Payment processing. Card and wallet payments are handled entirely by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never seen or stored by this website.
  • Preview counts. When you play a 30-second preview we record an anonymous count using a random ID stored in your own browser. It isn't linked to your account or identity.
  • Technical and security information. Like most websites, our hosting and error-reporting systems may temporarily record technical details such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited, to keep the site secure and fix problems.

What we use it for

  • Creating and securing your account.
  • Processing your orders and delivering your downloads.
  • Keeping purchase records so you can re-download your music.
  • Responding to support requests.
  • Understanding which previews are played, in anonymous aggregate.
  • Keeping the site secure and meeting legal/tax record-keeping obligations.

Who we share it with

We only work with the processors needed to run the store:

  • Stripe — payment processing (including card, Apple Pay and Google Pay where available).
  • Supabase — secure database, authentication and file storage for accounts, purchases and downloads.
  • Lovable — website hosting and error monitoring.
  • Google / Apple — only if you choose to sign in with one of those services.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) apply.

How long we keep it

Account and purchase records are kept for as long as your account is active, so your downloads stay available, and for a reasonable period afterwards where required for tax, accounting or legal purposes. Anonymous preview counts carry no personal identifier. Technical logs are kept only for short operational periods.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to receive a copy of your data. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you're unhappy with how we handle your data.

To exercise any of these rights, just get in touch via the contact page.
